The FIRST Robotics Ventura Regional will take place on March 24 – 26 at the Ventura College Athletic Event Center.  Dubbed a “varsity sport of the mind,” the FIRST Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources and a six week time limit, students are challenged to raise funds, build and program a robot and learn about teamwork.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, multinational competition where teams of professionals and high school students work together to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The program is a life-changing, career-molding experience and a lot of fun. The competition is a high-tech spectator sporting event, the result of lots of focused brainstorming, real-world teamwork, dedicated mentoring, project timelines, and deadlines.

When is this taking place?  March 24 – 26, 2016.  Practice day is Thursday March 24.  The competition is Friday and Saturday, March 25 – 26.

Who can attend?  The FIRST Robotics Competition is open to the public.  Closed-toed shoes are required to enter the pit areas.
