Sending E-mail Notices

IEEE eNotice <https://enotice.vtools.ieee.org/>

  • Lists are automatically updated by IEEE staff.
  • Meeting hosts can send to all registrants for their meeting.
  • Chapter Chairs can send to all members of their chapter.
  • Section ExCom can send to all IEEE members in Buenaventura Section using their ieee.org accounts.

IEEE Listserv <https://listserv.ieee.org/>

  • Lists are manually updated and therefore can be labor intensive. However, lists can include both IEEE members and nonmembers who have asked to be added.
  • Some chapters have set up lists for their own use.
  • Section ExCom can send to the BV-SECTION list using their ieee.org accounts.

Bcc method

  • Just put the addresses of the people you want to send to in the Bcc field of your E-mail.
  • Does not scale well. If sending to over 100 people, your message might be flagged as spam.
  • If you accidentally use the To or Cc field instead of the Bcc field, you might get a lot of people angry at you.
